GiveNKind Selected as iHeart Media Chicago Community Partner 2019

IHEARTMEDIA CHICAGO SALUTES 24 COMMUNITY PARTNERS AT COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP NETWORKING LUNCHEON

CHCAGO, IL – March 12, 2019 – iHeartMedia Chicago recently held its annual Community Partnership Luncheon that brought together Chicago’s business and community leaders, including The Honorable Pat Dowell, 3rd Ward Alderman of Chicago City Council; Eddie Johnson, Superintendent for the Chicago Police Department; Barbara Lumpkin, Interim President and CEO of Chicago Urban League and Rev. Michael Pfleger, Senior Pastor of Faith Community of St. Sabina.

In 2018, the Chicago stations held their annual Sista Strut, a 3K breast cancer charity walk to benefit the Sisters Network Chicago Chapter, the nation’s largest African American breast cancer survivorship organization. During the luncheon, iHeartMedia Chicago presented a check for $10,000 to Sisters Network Chicago Chapter. The company’s continued partnership with Scott Joplin Elementary School was also highlighted, which has raised over $62,500 since 2017 to develop a music program for its students. 

iHeartMedia Chicago’s 2019 community partners all fall under the education-themed umbrella of music, literacy, health, financial, employment and entrepreneurship. The partners include: North Lawndale Employment Network, College Board, Chicago Children’s Choir, Chicago Urban League, Cara Chicago, Open Books, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Healthy Communities, Embarc Chicago, After School Matters, Gift of Hope, LifeSource, Eden Place Farms, Ladies of Virtue, Latino Policy Forum, Journey’s Dream, Chicago Youth Programs, 100 Black Men 

of Chicago, giveNkind, Dress for Success, Kids Off The Block, Scott Joplin Elementary School, Sisters Network Chicago Chapter, My Block, My Hood, My City and UNCF Chicago. 

iHeartMedia Chicago has donated significant on-air and digital airtime to these organizations across its cluster of stations: 107.5 WGCI-FM, 103.5 KISS-FM, V103, Inspiration 1390 AM, 93.9 LITE FM and BIG 95.5.
