Emily Petway

Executive director and founder

Emily is the founder and executive director of GiveNKind. She is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s operations and leadership. Emily has a background in education, including 15 years of public school teaching and 7 years working in education programs management. Emily also launched the Atlanta chapter of Becca’s Closet in 2009, before moving to Chicago.​ She holds a masters degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan.

Carla Maranto-Arnold

Director of Development and Communications

Carla worked in higher education for over 15 years before transitioning to the social service nonprofit sector. She has experience directing Department of State grants and Federal Trio Programs, administering programs for at-risk kids, and managing international education programs. She is responsible for grants and outreach, and GiveNKind Direct. Carla holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Delaware. 

Anne Bailey

Program manager

Anne manages GiveNKind’s resource redistribution program, working closely with our amazing volunteers and our nonprofit partners. She brings over a decade of experience in program development, coordination, and evaluation from her previous work in food banking, higher education, community schools, and community health. Anne holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management.

Carrie Leeds

operations manager

Carrie manages technology and operations solutions to improve GiveNKind’s inventory management system and enhance our nonprofits’ experience. Her background is in project management where she managed the development and implementation of educational and training software programs for clients, including eBay, Dell and Northwestern University. Carrie holds a BS in Information Technology from Arizona State University.

Nonprofit Council

GiveNKind’s Nonprofit Council comprises leaders from Chicagoland nonprofits who provide feedback on GiveNKind’s programs and operations to help address issues of access and equity.
