2025 Quarter 2: HELP FROM USA TO BIH

At the inaugural meeting of the Giving Circle, Help from USA to BIH was selected from three nominated organizations to receive the group’s collective support. Founded in 2014 by a group of refugees committed to giving back, the organization rapidly expanded during the pandemic to serve seniors, asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence, and anyone in need who crossed their path. Entirely funded through community contributions, Help from USA to BIH used the Giving Circle’s support to access essential items like shoes, clothing, food, and more to serve communities in Niles and Chicago.

2025 Quarter 3: Refugee One

At the July 8 meeting, the Giving Circle selected Refugee One to receive a $2,400 GiveNKind Gift Card to support its work with asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants. With funding for refugee resettlement decreasing, this gift enabled Refugee One to provide essential items such as diapers, socks, hats, gloves, and medical walkers to the families it serves as they rebuild their lives in the U.S.

“We are grateful for this support, which will go a long way in meeting our clients’ basic needs,” said Kelli Wendt of Refugee One.

This Giving Circle was especially impactful this quarter, thanks to an anonymous match, which increased the total gift for the quarter to $3,400. This quarter’s additional two nominees, Iempower and Roberti Community House, each received $500 gift cards for resources for their Round Lake Beach and Waukegan/North Chicago communities.

2025 Quarter 4: Love and Protect Wisdom

At the October meeting, the Giving Circle awarded a $2,500 GiveNKind Gift Card to Love and Protect Wisdom (LPW). The organization was founded in 2023 by Lone Williams, following the loss of her mother to domestic violence—LPW is named in her mother’s honor.

LPW supports families affected by domestic violence and the surviving children who are often placed unexpectedly with relatives after a tragedy.

“Many of the families who take in children left behind by violence don’t have the extra resources to support them,” shared Ms. Williams. “LPW helps these families buy essentials like food and clothing to ease the transition.”

This GiveNKind Gift Card will help LPW provide even more families with the support they need during these difficult times.
